Muuji was born and raised in Mongolia. Moving to the United States, he pursued an education in an array of technical skills including graphic design, Flash, Premiere Pro and Photoshop.

He is 25 years old and currently resides in London.

Daniel Vidal

Daniel graduated in the US with a double degree in Film Studies and Telecommunication. He obtained the European Masters Degree in Audiovisual Management (MEDIA/MPA) in Rome, Italy.

Before moving to the UK in 2004, he worked as a screenwriter, casting director and editor for television in Spain. He now lives in London, where he works as a lecturer and as a freelancer for independent films and Twelvepoint.com.

Shoban J. Raveendran

Never knowing what he really wanted to do in life, Shoban had no idea that his early years behind the scenes involving sound mixing and camera work back home in Kuala Lumpur, would soon evolve into a passion for performing arts and film making.

In his high school years, he immersed himself in acting and appeared in various youth and Christmas stage productions. In college, he was involved in many big productions including fashion shows and a musical in which he acted in as well as designed the complete sound stage for the event. In early 2008, he experimented with small film projects, and took to playing roles in promotional commercials for youth events.

‘I really don’t know why I did it’, he says. ‘I guess being behind the camera for so long always gave me a desire to find out what it was like to be in front of the lense.’

Having satisfied that particular curiosity, in London, he devoted himself to script writing and recently began directing his very first short film alongside a team of talented young people from all over the world.

For the next few weeks, we are going to focus on each of the core crew members before going on to write ups on the cast themselves.

So, introducing, The Producer - kG Krishnan

kG was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Other than writing, his interests include playing the sitar, Bharathanatyam and theatre. He received primary tutorage in Sitar under the Malaysian Maestro, Samuel J Dass and afterwards under Cameronian Award Winner, Kumar Karthigesu at The Temple of Fine Arts International. He is also an activist in support of Neurofibromatosis patients. In his writing, he tends to explore themes that are sexual, masochistic or otherwise pain-related in nature. kG majors in Film & Journalism.

The Concept

The story of 106 Piccadilly involves fantasy/fairy tales characters that are known to many of us already, Captain Hook & The evil Queen (who, for this story's purpose, is the very same lady from Snow White, the tales of Narnia, and who also plays the part of the Wicked Witch of The East from Oz). The film also features a young boy that very much resembles a youthful Harry Potter.

The story focus is mainly on the first two fairy tale characters who wish to enroll in a University to pursue degrees in certain fields and their reasonings behind wanting a 'proper' education. The humour of the story is drawn from the conversations of these fantasy characters with the front desk person of the University, another key character of this story, who has a personality very much resembling that of “Basil Fawlty from BBC's Fawlty Towers”, sarcastic, impatient and seemingly always on the edge of exploding. Many of the punch lines in the film cite references from the actual fantasy stories that these characters originally come from.

Fawlty Towers

Fawlty Towers was a famous British sitcom produced by the BBC and first broadcast in 1975. Although only twelve episodes were produced (consisting of two series, with six episodes each), the programme has had a lasting and powerful legacy on comedy forms all over the

The setting is in a fictional hotel called Fawlty Towers and the plot typically revolves around the exploits and misadventures of short-fused hotel manger Basil Fawlty, his wife, and their employees,porter and waiter Manuel, maid Polly, and (in the second series) chef Terry. The episodes typically revolve around Basil's efforts to succeed in 'raising the tone' of his hotel and his increasing frustration at the numerous complications and mistakes, both his own and those of others, which prevent him from doing so. Much of the humour comes from Basil's overly aggressive manner, engaging in angry but witty arguments with guests, staff, and in particular his formidable wife. At the end of some episodes, Basil succeeds in annoying (or at least bemusing) the guests and frequently gets his comeuppance.

Upon his first visit to 106 Piccadilly, Shoban looked up at the formidable old English buildings that lined the main streets just a stone's throw away from Buckingham Palace and was reminded of the posh, prim and proper society of the English that once resided in these buildings. As he began writing, the thought of a University where visitors whom would visit it and would meet a surpringly obnoxious receptionist very much like Basil in character, slowly began to form the main plot of the story.

106 Piccadilly started off as a small university filmmaking project that evolved into something much bigger as filmmakers from this university decided to elevate the project to another level by hiring professional actors from different parts of London and building a great production team, all this giving the project a 'BIG' feel.

Pre-production began in September 2008 with the script being polished up, storyboards being drawn up and casting auditions held over a couple of weeks in order to find the very best talent in the city.

After selecting our perfect cast, shooting of the scenes began in November in the very heart of London. Winter came and went and in February the team got together again and the excruciating task of editing began. What would a fantasy film without the element of mystical magic be?, and in June 2009 a touch of magic, in this case the special effects of the film was provided by Muuji Badarch.

Shortly after, the very first part of the series was e-distributed via the official streaming channel.
